Yesterday Chvrches stopped by the BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge stage and performed a cover of Lorde's chart-topping single, "Team." Their version was pretty straightforward but added more synth and sped up the track a bit.
The band has recently become known for their synthtastic covers including their take on Whitney Houston's "It's Not Right, But It's Okay," the Arctic Monkey's "Do I Wanna Know?," Janelle Monae's "Tightrope" and HAIM's "Falling," among others. However, the Glasgow outfit says they are done with covers for a while.
Prior to their performance, the explained why they enjoy doing covers. "It's a lot of fun because we can put our own stamp on it and reinterpret it in a fun way. It always kind of feels like playing. You taking somebody else's stuff and taking it apart and putting it together again."
They were asked who they would like see cover their song "Recover" off their 2013 debut, The Bones of What You Believe, and said it was a tossup between Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins, Cat Power and Tegan and Sara.
The trio are currently finishing up their U.K. tour and will head stateside on April 10 in Portland before making a stop at Coachella.
