A night out for dinner with friends has turned into a $25,000 lawsuit filed by actress Tori Spelling who is suing the Benihana restaurant chain after being severely burned when falling into a hibachi grill.
The incident took place back in April on Easter Sunday as reported by WTOP, who says that Spelling filed court papers asking for a jury trial in a negligence case against Benihana restaurant in California. The former 90210 star is seeking more than $25,000 in compensatory damages claiming that after she suffered deep second and third degree burn injuries, she ultimately loss wages and accumulated extensive hospital and medical expenses.
As reported by NY Daily News, Spelling dined at the Japanese restaurant with friends and family when after getting up to leave, she suddenly "tripped and fell backwards on to a piping hot grill." Ultimately, she was seen in the emergency room at a hospital where doctors determined that the burned skin needed to be remove and skin from another area of the body would be grafted.
After the incident Spelling left this post on Instagram:
