Nick Jonas Drops New Track 'Area Code' Ahead of Made in America Festival Set

Pop crooner Nick Jonas took to the stage at 2015's Made in American Festival and before he finished his set, the "Jealous" singer dropped a surprise track titled "Area Code." Sounding unlike all other Jonas material, the singer's voice is heavily distorted and takes a more morose turn, both elements comparable to Canadian rapper Drake.

The latest track's lyrics have fans wondering if the 22-year-old is still pining after ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, as it seems a line or two act as a nod to the "Come and Get It" singer, MTV News reports. "You say I never been good for you, you can't deny I gave it good to you," Jonas sings, in what seems to be an indication of Gomez and A$AP Rocky's summer anthem "Good For You."

The former Disney channel stars dated for a short amount of time back in 2008 but recently linked up to grab dinner in the beginning stages of the summer. "It was nice to connect and just catch up," the "Levels" singer told the Capital FM DJ in an interview, The New York Daily News notes. "I'll leave it there." The speculations only continued to grow when the duo was caught looking friendly at an MTV Video Music Awards after party. Now with the lyrics in question, fans have been exploding with excitement that the two might rekindle a forgotten love.

The young men in Hollywood can't seem to get enough of Gomez as this isn't the first time this week she's been "mentioned" in a music video. The 23-year-old singer's name appeared in other ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber's, music video for "What Do You Mean," showcasing the name "Selena" spray painted in the videos skate park backdrop.

Adding more curiosity to the matter at hand, Jonas took to twitter to favorite fans who were happy about the Selena reference. It looks like she's gotten in the middle of a pop love triangle--will it be Bieber, Jonas or neither?
