Superhumanoids Release "Touch Me" Ahead of New Album 'Do You Feel OK?'

Superhumanoids seem to be making an effort to keep up with the times and are now posting their tracks on Soundcloud, moving away from the MySpace debuts they started off with in 2010. Now, the indie rock outfit is back with a new album Do You Feel OK? and today (Sept. 8), it gave fans a taste of what's to come with the new song "Touch Me" ahead of the record's release date later this week.

Superhumanoids debuted "Touch Me" over at SPIN and have transferred from what the publication called "post-Velvets krautrock surf-pop" to electro-dance. You can however pre-order their new album Do You Feel Ok? before it drops this Friday (Sept. 11) on Innovative Leisure. They have also just released whimsical, upside down music video for "Anxious In Venice," which is a bit harder than anticipatory track "Touch Me" for the new album.

Superhumanoids vocalist Sarah Chernoff claimed to be inspired by Kate Bush back in the day, but her style is definitely more electro-pop - at least now. "Touch Me," is the definition of the '80s, both in it's title and lavender purple eyeshadow sentiments. Not that Chernoff has even a little bit of that look, which makes their style more unique in a sea of that decade trending in popular music culture.

Cameron Parkins, Max St. John and Evan Weinerman comprise the rest of the group, adding synths, beats and a bassline to an already on trend genre. It's definitely more down-tempo than "Anxious In Venice."

"Strangers howl and moan / Can you help me? / Can you help me?" Chernoff sings out in a cool, whispery tone. "Can you help me?" is definitely the question on this track and in all of the '80s-style songwriting we will find the answer.
