If you haven't had a chance to catch Britney Spears' Piece of Me show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas yet, don't worry - you still have two more years to catch the pop superstar's residency. Last night (Sept. 9) during one of her concerts, the "Pretty Girls" singer announced that she's going to be sticking around Sin City for quite a while longer.
Though Spears usually has her fans count to three to help her perform her single "3," on Wednesday she gave the audience a simpler task: count to two. In a video later posted to her Instagram, Spears proudly announced that she's signed on to continue her journey in Vegas through 2017.
Spears later confirmed the news in an interview with E! Online. "I'm not ready to leave Vegas yet. And I just really, really love this show and this city," she said. "I'm so proud of the show, and my band, my dancers and my crew have all become such a family to me. When it came down to me really having to make this decision, I just couldn't imagine ending my residency at the end of this year."
Spears' latest round of shows at Planet Hollywood was set to wrap up on Dec. 31. Even as recently as the Teen Choice Awards, Spears wasn't sure whether or not she would continue the show but she has now chosen to renew her contract.
But just because Spears is continuing her stay in Vegas, that doesn't mean Piece of Me isn't going to develop. Beginning in 2016, the 33-year-old mother of two said that she's working on revamping the setlist, props and costumes for the new round of shows.
"I definitely have some major changes planned. I'm getting together with my team this week to go over the set list, design some new costumes and dream up new props," she said. "There are a few songs that are fan favorites that I really want to add to the show."
Spears will next perform in Vegas on Oct. 14.
