Hunter Hayes aims for Guinness record: playing 10 shows in 10 cities...in 24 hours

Hunter Hayes is eyeing the Guinness Book of World Records when he sets off on a ten-show tour on May 9. The record-breaking part is that every one of the gigs will occur in a different city...on the same day.

The "Hunter Hayes' 24 Hour Road Race to End Child Hunger" will open with a performance on the set of Good Morning America in New York City before heading north to Boston and working its way back down to Philadelphia by the end of the day. How he'll be transporting himself to various locations hasn't been announced, but you can bet it won't be by tour bus.

Tickets for the various gigs are available via the performer's website.

It's great that this project will be raising money for charity and all, but we know Hayes has to be thinking about that record. He was clever in planning two more shows than the previous record holder, The Flaming Lips, who only played eight gigs when they pulled the stunt during 2012. The two concert jump will make it tougher for another act to catch up...the Lips only played one more show than previous record holder Jay Z. In the band's defense however, the distance between their farthest shows (Memphis to New Orleans) on the tour is 395 miles, versus Hayes total distance (between Boston and Philadelphia) is only 306 miles.
