Back in March, it was made public that “Liquor” singer Chris Brown had fathered a child outside his relationship with Karrueche Tran with a long time associate of his, Nia Guzman. Since then, there has been much fallout for the singer. However, today in a court of law, Brown was victorious as a Houston, Texas judge ruled in his favor and he was able to win joint custody of his young daughter, Royalty, and place a gag order on Guzman in one fell swoop. Earlier today, TMZ reported that Guzman's efforts were denied in preventing Brown from getting custodial rights, and the singer's petition for joint custody of their 1-year-old toddler was approved.

Sorry TMZ, I think u got your info wrong. I've been in the court for the last 2 hours. #ILOVEROYALTY A photo posted by @chrisbrownofficial on Sep 11, 2015 at 9:08am PDT

According to a court's ruling, the child will now be split between the parents every four days as Guzman is currently living in Los Angeles. Although Guzman was looking to get an increase in child support payments, the judge ruled it would stay the same in addition to approving Brown’s wish to place a gag order that would prevent Guzman from bad mouthing the singer publicly.

The embroiled singer who is currently on the One Hell of a Nite Tour, has had one hell of year—no pun intended. Aside from finding out that he was the father of a 9-month-old baby girl in the spring, he later was the victim of a home invasion that left his aunt tied and up and help at gunpoint. this is in addition to all of the drama caused by going back and forth with the child’s mother about his parenting abilities. It now looks like Brown has won the battle, as he was allowed to take home his little princess after the court’s ruling.
