A snippet for “Best Friend” from Young Thug's Slime Season has been floating around the Internet and now fans get to hear the song in its entirety, thanks to an accompanying video Thugger just dropped.
Throughout the Be El Be-directed visual, Thug appears as the star and the supporting cast members, with his likeness playing multiple roles. The trippy video also shows the Atlanta rapper in whiteface, similar to Snoop Dogg’s alter personality Todd.
Back in July, Thug tweeted about the delay of the release of Slime Season, a full-length collaboration with producer London On Da Track. The project was originally slated to drop the same day as Lil Wayne's Free Weezy Album.
No word on when to expect Slime Season but Thug's debut, Hy!£UN35, is set to arrive this month via Lyor Cohen's 300 Ent. "It's launching on, I think, Sept. 24," he said. "But I don't know. I might take it back because I've got a couple new songs I may want to play for the label. All the songs are perfect, so..."
The album was originally slated for release on Aug. 28.
Last September, Thug took many Lil Wayne fans by surprise when he announced that wanted to continue Weezy's 'Tha Carter' series after it was reported that Tha Carter V would be his last solo album. Since then, the two have shared an awkward public exchange. In July, reports began to surface that Thug and Birdman conspired to kill Lil Wayne in a Bloods-related tour bus shooting.
Young Thug will commemorate his highly anticipated debut LP with a 34-date tour and Tory Lanez will serve as opener on a number of the dates. The Paramount in Huntington, New York will host the tour's first show, with stops also being made in Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles and Houston.
