It was reported that the trademark request was filed on October 25 and wass listed as owned by Cash Money Records, Inc., under the care of law firm Pryor Cashman LLP.
At the time, sources said that the documents indicated that Cash Money owned the name and had the intent to use the name, but hadn't made it official yet.
The label has expanded quite a bit since its founding in 1991, adding a management company, Young Money (helmed by Lil Wayne), a publishing arm, Cash Money Content, and its Trukfit clothing line.
