During a recent interview with Billboard, the Seattle Seahawks disc jockey, DJ DV One, revealed that he feels weird playing Future's music because of Russell Wilson's relationship with Ciara.
The revelation came after the outlet's attempt to get some insight as to which songs get players from the Seahawks and the Atlanta Falcons the most pumped during practice. DV One opened up, admitting that his playlist is limited due to a certain conflict of interest.
"I’ve been getting a lot of requests for Future," he told Billboard. "But that dynamic is weird too, because I can barely play Future with Ciara running around and that’s her baby’s dad. It’s just that he has a dope-ass album out right now, players like to hear it, it definitely gets you pumped up — even though it’s low-tempo, it’s still stuff that you want to hear — and then you’ve got Ciara running up with little baby Future and she’s dating Russell so it’s like, 'Oh f*ck.'”
But it isn't just Future's music that DV One is on the fence about playing. He said that he's also shied away from spinning Ciara's music because he doesn’t want people to think of it as favoritism.
Although Future may be off limits to DV One, he's getting plenty of hometown love from the Falcons' DJ, Jay Envy. His playlist includes "Real Sisters" and "March Madness," as well as the Drake-assisted "Where Ya At."
In it's opening week, DS2 snagged the number one spot on the charts making this third album Future's most successful project to date. During his set at Made In America earlier this month, Future announced his intentions to release a new album this year. He's also reportedly been prepping the release of a mixtape with Drizzy.
