Lady Gaga reveals 'artRave: ARTPOP Ball' stage design, and it's epic

Kanye West and Miley Cyrus have drawn attention for the spectacular nature of their tour stage designs, but Lady Gaga was at the fore of the trend when she went out with her "Monster's Ball" circa 2009 (kudos to Metallica as well). The pop star released the plans for her forthcoming "artRave: The ARTPOP Ball Tour," and she hasn't scaled anything back.

Gaga posted a few illustrations via her Twitter account. The most obvious detail is a lengthy runway that stretches from the stage out into the general admission floor, before splitting into separate arms. At the need of one arm there seems to be a floor-level area where Gaga and support may be able to descend to crowd level. The singer noted that the runway would be made of lucite, a thick, translucent plastic, and fans will be able to hang out under the runway and see the action from below.

The parts of the stage that actually reside on the stage aren't too minimalist either. The backdrop is a giant digital screen, and we reckon it may be bigger than Yeezy's "Yeezus" jumbotron. There's also a huge white structure, somewhat resembling Atlantica from The Little Mermaid. Who knows what kind of special effects are built into that sucker.
