Kelly Bowling started off singing with her family, The Crabb Family, then started touring with her husband and daughter as The Bowling Family. Now, she adds another entry to her resume as she takes on the big screen in a Christian family movie called, Virtuous. Playing the part of Nurse Kathy Cole, Kelly spent time in the Atlanta, Georgia area in January of this year for the filming.
From the creator of Finding Faith and Uncommon, the project is a faith-based film that was "created to ignite women to live with non-negotiable convictions. Convictions of faith, beauty, family and integrity."
Starring Brandy Allison, Kera O'Bryon, Jessica Lynch, Angelita Nelson, Erin Bethea, Venessa Ore, Bonnie Johnson, Melissa Barron, Pam Jenkins, Erik Estrada, Eliot Sloan, Tim Goodwin and Ben Davies, Kelly Bowling is in great company for her first acting role. In a press release, she shared, "I am so excited for everyone to see this movie. The message it contains is inspiring and the story is moving. I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of a Christian movie with a positive message."
Virtuous interweaves the stories of several different women involved and impacted in and through the trial of Simone Burner, a young college-aged Christian woman charged with murder after killing a man who attacks her. The individual story of each woman examines the different challenges Christian women face in today’s culture, from Si herself, her mother, the lead detectives and police officers, judges, the prosecution and defense lawyers, new reporters, and hospital staff.
Virtuous is set to release on Mother’s Day and is also available in a format suitable for a Church viewing or Women’s Conference.
