Pharrell Confirms He Will Make Another N.E.R.D Album With Chad Hugo and Shae Haley

It would be quite the reunion if it happens. Pharrell Williams posted on Twitter, confirming that a new N.E.R.D album is in the works during an iHeartRadio Q&A session. N.E.R.D is comprised of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shae Haley and they released their last album Nothing way back in 2010 without making a huge impact. The last time that the group collaborated was on the soundtrack for the Spongebob: Sponge Out of Water movie according to Entertainment Weekly.

When a fan asked him during the Q&A "Are you going to make another N.E.R.D album????" Williams replied, "OF COURSE!" This simple statement was enough to send the music world buzzing about the possibilities.

Williams has made an enormous comeback on his own, without the rest of N.E.R.D. since 2010, when the pop music landscape was decidedly different. Pharrell's G I R L, was a smooth mix of pop, R&B, funk and disco and Billboard reported that it reached the list of nominees for album of the year very early in the Grammy process. Williams went on to win three awards for the album, including "Best Pop Solo Performance," "Best Music Video" and "Best Urban Contemporary Album" for G I R L. He also performed smash single "Happy" in a lobby boy suit at the awards ceremony.

There were numerous reasons behind the win, but number one was "Happy," which appeared on the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack in 2013 and ignited public interest in the album itself when it dropped in March 2014. "Happy" also earned him an Oscar nomination and quickly rose to No. 1 on the Hot 100, turning him into as a famous solo act when he had previously been viewed as either producer or collaborator. He didn't go on to win the award at the Oscars but he did perform the song at the ceremony, which was conveniently only a day before the album dropped. While most fans would love to see N.E.R.D reunite, William's career is currently just fine without it.
