Mathew Knowles, father of one of the world's biggest stars and manager to Destiny's Child, the group that launched his daughter Beyonce's career, is hopeful that the trio will reunite to craft another studio album.
Although Knowles severed ties with Beyonce's back in 2011, he recently spoke with Huffington Post about an alleged girl group reunion. "I am extremely hopeful that the ladies will come back with an album and a tour. I'm working on a few Destiny's Child projects right now," he said.
"My second book will be the autobiography of Destiny's Child. I'm talking to the film and TV community right now, regarding a Destiny's Child movie or TV series of some sort," he added while elaborating on possible Destiny's Child projects. "I still manage the ladies, and I'm hopeful that within the next two to three years we'll see something major come from it."
The reunion album could potentially come sooner than we think, seeing as how 2016 will mark the 10-year anniversary since the trio went their separate ways. In March, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams reunited on live TV at the 2015 Stellar Gospel Music Awards. Rowland and Beyonce showed up to support their girl group counterpart and long-time friend Williams to perform her gospel single "Say Yes."
The group originally came together in 1990, eventually undergoing a few line-up changes and selling nearly 60 million records worldwide before calling it quits in 2006. The "Say My Name" singers also reunited during the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show. While Beyonce continues to dominate the charts, Rowland has continued pursuing her solo career in music and is also slated to appear in season 2 of Empire as Terrance Howard's mother. Williams, on the other hand, has decided to "Cater 2 U" with her latest venture-- her own line of home décor called Believe, Michelle Williams At Home.
