Fans Tweet Disappointment Over Kanye West's '808s And Heartbreak' Show

The first of Kanye West's two-night 808s and Heartbreak performances at the Hollywood Bowl in California certainly did not go as expected with multiple technical glitches along the way. Seemingly feeling that they didn't get their money's worth, several fans went online and tweeted their disappointment over the technical difficulties. There is even a short video from this past Friday (Sept. 25) where West orders the crew to stop the music in the middle of the concert.

According to TMZ, who posted the video, West said, "There's no piano. Stop the track," in the middle of his performance and played the situation off by saying "This is the best dress rehearsal I've ever had," even though it was reported that his was late to his rehearsal the night before. As of late, it's unusual for Kanye West to receive such negative feedback and received compliments from both Rolling Stone and the New York Times for his performance shortly after the concert as reported by Billboard.

"Late 'See You in My Nightmares,' Kanye walked over to the band for a comment, then over to his string section to flip a page on his conductor's sheet music. 'This is one of the best dress rehearsals,' he said in the night's only moment of frustration," Steve Appleford wrote in Rolling Stone.

"Mr. West's approach came fully into focus in the second half of the night, with the album's most moody and aching songs. At the conclusion of 'Bad News,' gunshot noises rang out and Mr. West staggered around the stage, eventually collapsing facedown on the ground as the string section throbbed urgently, almost like a boot on his neck. On 'See You in My Nightmares,' he asked for the backing track to be cut so that he could be accompanied by a moping piano," Jon Caramanica reported in the New York Times.

It seems that the technical glitches mattered more to the fans than to the press, who treated it as more of an afterthought than an actual issue.
