Keyshia Cole recently made Drake's "Hotline Bling" her own. She shared the remix, on which she presumably reflects on a relationship gone bad, via SoundCloud. It's possible that Cole is singing passionately about her estranged husband, former NBA player Daniel Gibson or her previously rumored boyfriend Birdman.
On Cole's revamped version, she sings about a past fling whose nonstop hotline and affairs with other women made the relationship go south. She also made sure to give Drizzy a shoutout before flipping the script and telling the story from a female perspective.
“Much respect to @champagnepapi, but this one is for the ladies," she captioned a photo of the song's artwork.
Back in March, Cole engaged in a war of words with Gibson and blasted her alleged cheating husband for texting with another woman on his phone while in her presence at a video shoot.
In September 2014, Cole reportedly attacked a woman at Birdman's condo after she stormed in during the wee hours of the morning. The assault victim, Sabrina Mercadel, an employee of Cash Money Records, was granted a restraining order against Cole, who allegedly punched her in the face and threw objects at her during the incident. Following the attack, she was taken to the ER and given pain meds while Cole was arrested. The "I Should've Cheated" singer was later released on $46,000 bail. Cole avoided being prosecuted by sitting in on an informal office hearing instead.
Last October, the Grammy-nominated singer dropped her sixth studio album, Point of No Return. The album featured the singles "Rick James," featuring Juicy J, "Next Time (Won't Give My Heart Away)," and "She."
Earlier this month, Cole released her London On Da Track-produced track “Don’t Waste My Time” featuring Young Thug. The Oakland songstress is working on her first independent album as well.
