"Thinking Out Loud" singer Ed Sheeran recently detailed what it's like to hang around with the Rolling Stones veteran Keith Richards and slammed the tons of critics of his latest giant lion tattoo on his chest. On June 28, Sheeran joined the Rolling Stones on stage for their Kansas City concert and following the show, the musicians spent some down time together.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the British singer-songwriter offered insight on his time spent with the Stones, specifically Richards. "He's definitely a kind and humble person, but he's definitely Keith Richards," Sheeran said. "He can handle his drink and drugs. The best thing he said to me was when I was talking to him about getting arrested, and he said, 'I've never had a problem with drugs - I had a problem with the police.'"
Sheeran was questioned about his controversial lion chest tattoo and the singer took the opportunity to slam those who have jeered at his latest ink.
"Well, the England crest is three lions, so I was going to get three lions," he divulged. "But I got one instead. And that's kind of the story. I don't really know why people make such a big fuss out of it. I know so many people with sh*t tattoos in f*cking Greek and Latin that they can't even read or understand that say slogans like 'Times change, people don't,' or something bullsh*t like that. I'm sure [David] Beckham has some sh*t on him, some sort of Chinese art that no one would find that strange. But they find me putting something that symbolizes me playing the biggest venue in England weird."
Earlier in September, Sheeran revealed details concerning his latest concert film titled Jumpers For Goalposts. The film was recorded over the time of his three-night stay at Wembley Stadium in July 2015 and boasts footage of his live duet with "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" singer Elton John, NME reports. Supplementing the live footage, the concert film also details the story of the X singer's early life as a growing musician and his rise to fame.
A one-of-a-kind Jumpers For Goalposts cinema event will take place at London's Leicester Sqaure and will broadcast live to worldwide cinemas next month on October 22. Sheeran will give a live performance at the Leicester Sqaure event but otherwise, the singer recently announced a break from music to focus on other aspects of his career like launching his first ever record label, Gingerbread Man Records, signing songwriting Jamie Lawson as his first artist and guest starring in Kurt Sutter's latest FX series, The Bastard Executioner.
