18-year-old New Zealand model, Bailey Scarlett, says that her drink was spiked at a Justin Bieber listening party she was invited to in Melbourne, Australia. The Biebs has been on blast many times for his bratty behavior, but this one is somewhat extreme, although a young girl having something slipped into her drink at a party is, sadly, not unusual.
According to The Daily Mail, the young model took to social media and created an in-depth Facebook post on the incident, which TMZ reported has since been made private for legal reasons. In the post, she claimed that Canadian pop-star Justin Bieber appeared to sympathize with her and then went to tell his entourage that she was faking it immediately after. She went outside and called the police as her condition worsened, requesting to be taken to the hospital.
"I basically just remember collapsing to the floor and from what I've been told on Facebook and from the girls that were there and were worried for me, I just screamed 'Put me in an ambulance!' And thats when they were all like 'Wow, this is serious," she said during her exclusive interview with Channel 9's A Current Affair.
When asked why people should believe her, the model said, "I strongly believe that I have two feet to stand on and I can honestly say that I'm 99.9 percent sure that there was something in my drink. I wouldn't put so much on the line, I wouldn't let my name be thrown across the mud and have my photos posted everywhere."
She has further claimed that she had a bad feeling during the party and that, "I've never been scared being drunk, it's always been a happy kind of a feeling, but no, this was a very scary and foreign kind of a feeling that I just didn't like. I've had anxiety and panic attacks before and know how to calm myself down in that situation and I'm neither convulsing on the floor or unconscious. So, I think for them to call it a panic attack was just such a joke."
Alex McDonell from Showcase PR told TMZ, "I guess she's just trying to get her few minutes of fame. She started crying, she calmed down and afterwards I pretty much said, 'look, you need to go home and sleep it off and we can catch up another time. The next thing we know the police have been called and now she's got her name on social media and in the paper."
TMZ also reported that the studio owner, Jimi Wyatt, has since watched footage of the event and asserts that her drink wasn't disturbed in any way and that she has yet to file an official report.
