Taylor Swift Donates $50,000 to Help Cancer-Battling Nephew of Her Back-Up Dancer

Known for connecting on personal levels with her fans and her extremely philanthropic nature, Taylor Swift has struck again--this time, donating $50,000 to help the infant nephew of one of her back-up dancers after the baby was recently diagnosed with cancer.

The backup dancer, Kim "Toshi" Davidson, recently divulged that his 13-month-old nephew was suffering from the severe, life-threatening illness. The young uncle even launched a GoFundMe page to aid expensive medical costs, Us Weekly reports. Davidson took to Instagram to say: "My youngest Nephew Ayden "Lil Toshi" only 13 months old has been diagnosed with Cancer... Keep him in your prayers please... They are still running test to find out the stage and how far it has spread...GoFundMe link in Bio...if you want to donate ... all I ask is for you to pray for him...Value the life you have and live it... Spread Love"

After seemingly coming across the post, Swift pledged money to the GoFundMe page, writing: "Baby Ayden, I'm lucky enough to perform with your uncle Toshi on tour. All of us are praying for you and your mama and sending so much love your way. Love, Taylor."

Davidson took a screenshot of said donation and responded via Instagram by saying: "So I get off the plane in Toronto and this is the 1st thing I see... @taylorswift is an angel and My family and I can't thank her enough... She is such an incredible human being... This will help Lil Toshi in this time of need... Let's pray for him to beat this... This unexpected gift is truly a blessing".

Perhaps Swift donated out of the kindness of her own heart, which isn't a long shot by any means, or perhaps because it's a cause that hits close to home. The 25-year-old singer's mom, Andrea Swift, was recently diagnosed with cancer. After asking her mother to get a check-up for Christmas to ease the pop singer's mind, it turned out there was some bad news, Billboard notes. Ever since, the 1989 singer has pleaded with her fans to constantly check on their own health and the health of their family members in hopes of catching illnesses early on.

The "Wildest Dreams" singer has otherwise given back to fans and charities in a number of ways by donating her prom dress, helping to pay off one fan's student loans, donating $15,000 to a firefighter who saved his family and surprising a super fan at her baby shower.
