American pop/r&b singer, songwriter Autre ne Veut, real name Arthur Ashin, has released his second artist album Age of Transparency via Downtown Records. The 9-track album is the follow up to his critically acclaimed 2012 full-length Anxiety. With the album getting released, Ashin is prepping for a month-long tour across North America with GEMS & Mazed.
The album is an exercise in organized chaos, bouncing around between different elements of pop, jazz and even smatterings of R&B.
Drawing on his heavy jazz influences, Ashin also shared a jazz version of the album titled Avatar sessions. It is a series of recordings from the Avatar Studios in Manhattan with the Hazelrigg Brothers. After the recording, Autre Ne Veut took the music home, deconstructed it and reimagined the tracks with his own twist to create Age of Transparency. Purchase it on iTunes.
To go along with the album, Ashin is setting up a popup shop for the next seven days from Oct. 2 to Oct. 9 at the Wallplay Shop At The Hole in NYC on Bowery. Head to Wallplay Shop's website to get more information.
Autre Ne Veut kicked off his tour last night with an album release party in Brooklyn. In a week he will jet off to Los Angeles to commence the rest of his tour in Los Angeles, followed by tour dates in Denver, Chicago, Toronto, Washington DC and back in New York City.
