Newly Confident pop-star Demi Lovato is very honest in a new video interview for her upcoming album and music video for the title track, due to be released later this week (Oct. 9). The full album is going to be released mid this month (Oct. 16) via Safehouse, Island and Hollywood Records and is available for pre-order on her website.
"The pre-chorus says it best, where it says, 'You've had me underrated.' I've wanted to shout that from the top of my lungs for years now," Lovato said in the video as reported by Billboard.
She further said, "I have never been confident enough in my own skin to feel sexy. Now that I'm feeling great and I feel confident, I'm proud of the skin that I'm in."
"I'm wanting to share that with the world and showing everyone how you can go from being very insecure with body image issues to feeling so proud of your body that you want to show it to the world," she said to finish out the video.
On the weekend, Lovato also posted a teaser of her new music video directed by Robert Rodriguez and co-starring Fast & Furious actress Michelle Rodriguez. Demi Lovato had recently had a guest-starring role on his From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series, which additionally stars her longtime boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama according to MTV.
The teaser clip of the "Confident" music video as well as her brief interview on the track are only the latest in a string of self-assured things that Lovato has done to prepare for her album's release, most notably performing nude and make-up free for Vanity Fair last week. The young starlet has certainly done an about face from the troubled child star and frequent flier in negative tabloid stories that she was just a few years ago.
