Tinashe is back with a follow-up to her latest release, Black Water. She just dropped a visual to her DJ Mustard produced track "2 On" featuring TDE's Schoolboy Q.
The video opens up with the L.A.-based singer-actress getting ready for a night out with her girls. She rehearses her moves at a studio and then shows off later that night at an underground club, where Schoolboy Q happens to be.
In the midst of the dance-heavy clip, the birthday girl blows out the candles on her cake and starts a food fight.
"'2 On' is meant to be fun. It's about celebrating being young, going out, being with your friends, and living it up. That was my inspiration," Tinashe said. "It's got a West Coast vibe with ScHoolboy Q and DJ Mustard, but it has my spin too. I wanted the visuals for the song to capture that mood."
According to Rap-Up, Tinashe has been in the studio with the likes of Mike WiLL Made It, Boi-1da, T-Minus, and Dev Hynes.
Tinashe is gearing up for the release of her debut set to drop later this year, courtesy of RCA Records.
"When I was in the group I never really had the opportunity to reach inside and express musically how I really feel. Plus, my music is a lot "cooler" in my opinion than the music I was writing before for the pop group," Tinashe told Convozine when asked how she felt about going solo.
She is a former member of girl group The Stunners.
