Although the album sales for What a Time to Be Alive may have dropped quite a bit, Soulja Boy recently remixed one of Drake and Future's standout tracks, "Jumpman."
On his version of the infectious track, Soulja drops braggadocios bars about his Lambo's, fat stacks and designer clothes. He even calls himself the “trapper of the century” and brags about spending “$1,000 on an ashtray.”
The original version of "Jumpman" remains a fan favorite despite the album's decline in sales. As previously reported, album sales for WATTBA dropped 81 percent after selling 334,000 pure albums in week one. The album only sold 65,000 albums in week 2. The decline has been reported as one of the worst for a No. 1 album from a debut week to a second week in hip-hop history.
In case you haven’t had enough of the Metro Boomin’-produced track, Vancouver based company VTYO recently shared a “Jumpman” video game. Users play as the head of Drake, Future or Metro Boomin' while attempting to propel themselves to the highest score. The entire time, either Drake or Future saying "Jumpman" is the only music that plays.
According to his Twitter account, Soulja plans to release a video for the rebooted cut soon.
Apparently, Soulja and Drizzy have been drawing creative inspiration from each other for some time now. Back in 2013, Drake made an Internet hit out of Soulja’s “We Made It.” During an interview with Vlad TV last fall, Soulja even claimed that he was the inspiration behind a lyric in Drake's smash "Started From The Bottom."
"I wear my jewelry all the time," he said. "What Drake said in that song? 'I wear all my chains on even when I'm in the house.' He got that shit from me. You know what I'm saying?"
As noted by HotNewHipHop, Soulja's remix follows the release of his Plug Talk mixtape, his fifth project this year. He currently appears on the second season of VH1's Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood with his on-again-off-again girlfriend, Nia.
