Brian Littrell claims Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls talking about tour

Back alley whispers and gossip have caused pop music fans the world over to work themselves into a frenzy. Below is a quote that originally ran in The Sun newspaper, as provided by Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell.

"We are actually in early talks about maybe doing a world tour together with the Spice Girls."

Although most people laugh and shrug off their fascination with '90s pop staples such as the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys, everyone also knows they would immediately jump on the chance to see both acts touring together during 2014.

No offense meant to Backstreet, but Spice Girls are the more fascinating element in this potential tour. The girl group last performed during the closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics, and before that the group had last played during its first reunion tour in 2007. "Experts" are already theorizing that a 2014 tour wouldn't feature Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham, who said after the London performance "Thank you to everybody, but no more." Other members have seemed more eager for reformation, such as Mel C (aka Sporty Spice), who suggested the group come back to celebrate the 20th anniversary of "Wannabe" in 2016.

The Backstreet Boys have been officially back in commission for a relative while now. The group will tour during the summer, with Avril Lavigne as a supporting act. They'll also be headlining a cruise ship line for the "Backstreet Boys Cruise" one-off in October. So if the group is truly planning a tour with the Spice Girls, it won't be for a long while yet.

All you/we can do now is pray.
