Apparently, some of Kanye West's fellow Chicago artists have a bone to pick with the "All Day" rapper. Producer Young Chop recently took it upon himself to put Yeezy on blast for manipulating artists from his city. He even threw in a mention of Vic Mensa.
As noted by XXL, Chop first aired out his grievances with Ye during an interview with VICE on Beats 1 Radio and then followed up with a few videos shared on Instagram. In his posts, he claims that his fellow Chi-town native simply uses young artists for his own benefit, saying, “[Kanye] use you, try to soak up everything n*ggas know, get you to write songs for him and then don’t call you after that. F*ck him! Say for instance, like, ‘Don’t Like’ and my boy Vic Mensa. He gonna make it seem like he put them on. And he really f*ckin’ didn’t. N*ggas started rom the bottom.”
Ye and Mensa, who is currently signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation, previously collaborated on tracks like "Wolves" and "U Mad." Mensa was also included in the credits for "All Day."
Chop's feelings towards Ye have been mounting for some time now. Back in 2012, he shared similar sentiments, admitting that he felt disrespected that West re-did “I Don’t Like” without first consulting him.
“I just felt disrespected ’cause I didn’t even hear the song before it dropped, and I kept telling them that I wanna hear the song," he told XXL. It sounded like a rock star beat, and that’s not how I do it. That’s not my sound. [Kanye] should have called me and asked me, ‘Ayo Chop, can I do this? Can I do that?’ But no. I didn’t hear nothing from him. I never talked to him.”
The original track served as the lead single for Chief Keef's debut album, Finally Rich, released in December 2012. The retweaked version, which featured Pusha T, Big Sean and Jadakiss, appeared on the G.O.O.D. Music compilation album, Cruel Summer.
