The Monkees announce plans for 2014 American tour

It doesn't look like anything is going to be slowing up The Monkees, as the group announced that it would be continuing to tour for the fourth straight year. The band had reunited to celebrate its 45th anniversary during 2011 and continued until original vocalist Davy Jones passed away from a heart attack due to atherosclerosis. Guitarist Mike Nesmith came back to the band following Jones' death and has been performing as the lead vocalist since.

Nesmith told Rolling Stone last year that he enjoyed getting back together with the band.

"It was so much fun," he said. "The people that come, they bring their expectations, and we give them exactly what they want, so that's perfect. I don't know what they're bringing in the door, but I'm happy to see them."

Unfortunately for West Coast fans of The Monkees, the band won't be traveling any further toward the Pacific than Kansas City, MO.
