Johnny Cash’s son says there are 'four or five' albums' worth of unreleased material from the late singer

Following the posthumous release of Johnny Cash's latest album, Out Among the Stars, news of more material has surfaced. According to his son, John Carter Cash, "There are a few things that are in the works right now -- probably four or five albums if we wanted to release everything."

He told the Guardian that there is also enough material for another multi-CD boxset of outtakes from Cash's American Recordings sessions with producer Rick Rubin. However, he did say that "some of it may never see the light of day."

Since Johnny Cash died in 2003, a number of posthumous albums of unheard material have been released, including the final two albums in Rubin's American Recordings series, American V: A Hundred Highways, American VI: Ain't No Grave and a four-volume series called Bootlegs.
