An incredible and proven NBA star player is lying in a hospital bed, comatose and fighting to his life after passing out in a brothel from an apparent drug overdose, but the media is labeling him a reality TV star instead. Lamar Odom is much more than a Keeping Up with the Kardashians cast member, and he has the stats to prove it. Though he hasn't been in the league in quite some time, Odom has won championships, honors and praise throughout his career, and plenty of sports stars took to Twitter to remind the world that Lamar was an athlete and not just the estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian, though we know that relationship had more to it than what the cameras showed us.

Dime Magazine shared some insight into the athlete's past, which clearly had an effect on his behavior, drug problems and other issues.
"Odom lost his mother when he was just 12 years old, then the grandmother who raised him 12 years later," the sports news site stated. "In 2006, Odom's 6-month-old son, Jayden, died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Five years later, Odom's cousin - who he was very close with - was gunned down in New York City. While he was attending his cousin's funeral, the car he was traveling in crashed and killed a 15-year-old pedestrian."
