Not as many people remember Kate Bush as they do some other '70s rock acts, but those who idolize Bush were quick on the draw when the performer announced a 22-show run in London for later this year. Bush will be performing a residency of sorts at the Eventim Apollo London, and more than 80,000 tickets to the series sold within 15-minutes of release at 9:30 A.M. (Greenwich Mean time zone).
Bush was flattered by the response, but probably shouldn't have been surprised. She last "toured" during 1979.
"I'm completely overwhelmed by the response to the shows," she said. "Thank you so much to everyone. Looking forward to seeing you all later this year."
The reactions from fans were not nearly as clean-cut. Many were left out in the cold due to the quick turnaround of the products available.
"Gonna start a Kate Bush ticket fail support group. After I stop crying," read a Tweet from user @TimNoakes.
"Not getting Kate Bush tickets is a suitable excuse to start drinking at 10am right?" was the question posed by user @kinggaybear.
Some refused to be bothered by the fact that tickets had sold out, and immediately went in search scalpers.
"My mate's been on the phone for hours trying to get Kate Bush tickets. He's Running Up That Bill," typed @TMitC.
The lucky few that did get tickets made sure not to rub it in others' faces, of course.
"YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M GOING TO SEE KATE BUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" @NickWood123 subtly noted. "HOLY F-----G S--T BALLS YES!"
