To celebrate 15 years as a successful charity, the Keep A Breast Foundation has partnered with some of punk rock's largest record labels to release a punk rock compilation titled Music For Boobies, of which 50% of the proceeds will help fund research to eliminate the disease.
"Having spent countless years on the ground at Warped Tour educating about breast cancer prevention and early detection, Keep A Breast has always considered the alternative music scene an invaluable partner in engaging a young audience," KAB founder Shaney Jo Darden said in a press release. "As we celebrate our 15th anniversary, we're really excited to join forces with Rude Records on the Music for Boobies compilation, which will feature many of our favorite artists we've met over the years."
According to the foundation's Facebook post, the first single will drop on December 11th. The album will feature 21 previously unreleased tracks from some of the biggest punk rock acts of our generation who will come together with only one goal in mind: "To raise breast cancer awareness thru music." Although the names of participating artists have yet-to-be announced, the project's partner, Rude Records, is home to bands like Zebrahead, American Hi-Fi, Light Years and many more.
Popular punk rock labels Epitaph Records, Side One Dummy, The Orchard, Sumerian, Pure Noise, Equal Vision, The Agency Group and The Noise Cartel have all signed on as supporters so far, so we can expect some pretty awesome bands to end up on the compilation.
You can check out a short clip that the organization put together documenting their time spent on this year's Vans Warped Tour where they set out to educate punk fans about breast cancer and what they can do to help combat it.
