Slaughterhouse rapper, 'Love & Hip-Hop' star Joe Budden apologizes for offensive, racially-charged Instagram post

Some celebrities still haven't learned that social media is not always on their side, Love & Hip-Hop star and Slaughterhouse rapper Joe Budden recently learned the hard way.

Budden came under fire after he posted a photo of an elderly Sikh man in the airport with the caption reading "Not on my watch Homeboy!"

The posting caused a slew of negative reactions from members of the Sikh community via Twitter.

According to Vibe magazine, the rapper was blasted with accusations of racism.

Initially, Budden was unapologetic. Some would even say he played the race card as his defense was that Black people bear the brunt of jokes all the time.

Responses to his critics included "lighten up" and "y'all should take this stance w ppl who REALLY feel this way & not jus who laughs @ it."

He later had a change of heart sending out an apology. Budden sent out a tweet saying, "I apologize to all Sikhs and any1 i offended w my tasteless & stereotypical post yesterday, it was ignorant & in bad judgement. Never again."

Minutes later, he followed up with another tweet, hoping for sympathy, "Hopefully ppl can find it in their hearts to forgive me, my God is a forgiving 1... today is a new day, here's to moving forward!"

Budden also removed the photo from his Instagram page.

Some appreciated Budden's attempt to make amends while others believe the damage had already been done.
