San Francisco Bay area's Whirr have been on Run For Cover Records for some time now, releasing three EPs, one of their own and two splits, but now, that relationship has come to an end due to some homophobic slurs that the band posted to their Twitter page.
The Tweets, which were directed at trans-feminist punk band G.L.O.S.S. from Olympia, Washington, have since been deleted, but according to Noisey, they read:
Lol @ G.L.O.S.S

@toothlessmile there is literally nothing not hilarious about that "band". — Whirr (@free_whirl) October 17, 2015
@samufiser misogyny is hating women. g.l.o.s.s. Is just a bunch of boys running around in panties making shitty music. — Whirr (@free_whirl) October 19, 2015
@elohellie lol attempting suicide. If you're gonna do it, do it right the first time. — Whirr (@free_whirl) October 20, 2015
@elohellie @ShieldExhile nah, that's an actual stance on suicide. My mom commited suicide why can't all these trans kids get it right?

G.L.O.S.S. released a five-track demo of transgender anthems (that are pretty kick-ass, we might add) a few months back that have seemed to have a major influence on the trans community. You can listen to the demo over at their Bandcamp page.
Run For Cover Records has since responded via Twitter to the shoegazy indie band, basically stating that they do not approve of their demeanor and are officially severing ties with the client. Their official statement has yet-to-be released.
We as individuals and as a label are accepting of all people and require the same from the bands and people we work with... — Run For Cover (@rfcrecords) October 20, 2015
We will not be working with Whirr from this point on and do not support that behavior in anyway. We will post a full statement tomorrow. — Run For Cover (@rfcrecords) October 20, 2015
G.L.O.S.S. is awesome and crucially important and we need more bands like them. — Run For Cover (@rfcrecords) October 20, 2015
The Internet also responded with a multitude of responsive tweets towards the band and its unaccepting comments, most of which the band retweeted, adding insult to injury and further showing how they think this whole thing is a big joke. We're not sure who's laughing now that they are out a record label, however.
