Skrillex and Diplo's powerhouse duo, Jack Ü have unveiled the remix package for the next single to arrive from their debut album together as a duo Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü. The remixes come for their collaboration with AlunaGeorge "To Ü." The track gets twists and reworked by a variety of artists including Armand Van Helden, Oliver, George and Clean Bandit, who are not known for their remix work.
The George remix comes from AlunaGeorge themselves, who remix themselves with something a little more subdued and Caribbean feel to the track.
Armand Van Helden gets two cracks at the track, befitting his status in the industry, which is something both Skrillex and Diplo would respect.
His hype remix is a much more uptempo, techno-influenced track that has plenty of 1990's rave sounds and old school vocal sampling and house piano. This remix just spun "To Ü" back twenty years and to the late night after party that Skrillex and Diplo rock quite often.
Van Helden closes out the remix EP with a more standard "deep" remix that has strong UK influences and hints at the hype remix with the same vocal sampling and uses some of the same ravey sounds.
Things get funk with Oliver as they add their signature chugging bass line and simplify the track, stripping away the jarring dubstep sounds and snare rolls.
Clean Bandit switch things up artistically going for a remix. They have been known for their own infectious, crossover UK house singles, but this remix, which incorporates a lot of those sounds, but on a more minimal level, shows a different side to them.
