Los Angeles emcee and producer Paris Jones recently released the third installment of his series of twelve monthly projects, #MarchEP.
Jones' #MarchEP project features six tracks including the lead single "The Cold War."
The tracks include original production that features samples from artists like Janell Monae, MF Doom and A Tribe Called Quest.
Jones says the #MarchEP was inspired by Janelle Monáe's most recent release The Electric Lady. After hearing this album, Jones decided to do a project with only her samples.
"I've been in love with Janelle Monáe for some years now," Jones said in a press release for the project. "I told my fans back in 2010 I was going to do a project with only Janelle Monáe samples but I never got around to doing it. I figured why not now, the timing is perfect and she has released a lot of music since then. I've had a lot of material to work with. I hope you guys enjoy it!"
March's predecessors January and February are now available for download.
Stupid Dope says the project "boasts smooth wordplay, extremely dope beats, and some talent that is definitely worth checking into."
