The Nick at Nite show,Instant Mom, starring Tia Mowry-Hardrict, will not see another season after the completion of season 3. The network announced that it has no plans on renewing the sitcom.
According to Deadline, the family sitcom starring Mowry-Hardrict, Michael Boatman and Sheryl Lee Ralph has come to an end and will not see another season after the finale in December. The sitcom centers on Stephanie (Mowry-Hardrict), a reformed party girl who changes her lifestyle when she meets and begins to date a man with three children making her a step-mother-or an instant mom.
The show began its first season exclusively on Nick at Nite and later and was later added to NickMom during its second season. The third and final season is currently airing on TV Land. According to the network, it's not so much that the ratings were poor, causing the show to be cancelled, but because the show has just simply run its course.
EUR reported that Instant Mom is the only original Nick at Nite program that has lasted for three seasons. Another show, See Dad Run, came pretty close to reaching 3 seasons, airing 50 episodes, but Instant Mom topped that number with a total of 65 episodes.
Mowry, who is the twin sister of The Real co-host Tamara Mowry, has many career endeavors to fall back on once the show wraps up for good. As NCC Media reminded Mowry's followers on Twitter, the 37-year-old wears many hats as a mother, wife, executive producer and author.
Before landing the role on the Nick at Nite show, Mowry starred on the BET show The Game, where she played Melanie. As reported by Atlanta Black Star, Mowry quit the BET show to take on more of a family role with the Nick at Nite series. But she and Pooch Hall, Melanie's boyfried on the BET show who also quit to further other opportunities, did return to make a final appearance together on the show's finale. If you want to catch more of Mowry on the small screen, you can watch her on her Cooking Channel show Tia Mowry At Home.
