Twenty One Pilots have announced their biggest tour yet, an arena circuit dubbed Emotional Roadshow that will include a grand finale at New York City's Madison Square Garden on Aug. 10, 2016.
The tour will kick off on May 31, 2016. It is being launched in support of the duo's 2015 album Blurryface, which was released via Fueled by Ramen. You can get a full list of the band's upcoming tour dates along with ticket information via their official website. Tickets go on sale this Friday, Oct. 30. Pre-sale tickets for the MSG show will be available today Oct. 28 starting at 10AM with code PIANO.
The newly-announced arena tour is a major departure from the kind of touring the band had to do when they were first starting out. The group's frontman Tyler Joseph recently spoke to Radio.com about his early days of touring with bandmate Josh Dun:
"It was an 18 passenger van, and we took out the back two seats and had a buddy of ours build this wooden frame and we had a futon mattress in the back so we would rotate," he said. "Someone would drive, someone would be in the passenger seat watching the driver, making sure they don't fall asleep, a couple other guys on some benches but then ultimately we had a luxury suite in the back because we had the mattress. That was my personal vehicle for a while, too."
Blurryface is the band's fourth overall studio album and their first with Fueled by Ramen, launching the band to major stardom. Their pop/dance/rock fusion seems to attract a wide variety of audiences, some of whom may be surprised to see the two rocking ski masks on stage. The duo had first started to gain the public eye with their third album Vessel, most known for its singles "Car Radio" and "Guns for Hands."
The two intriguing artists have only a few U.S. dates remaining on their current Blurryface World Tour before heading to Europe on Nov. 4, where they've sold out every single appearance in advance.
