For the Northern Hemisphere, festival season is firmly in the rearview mirror as attendees get ready to bundle up for the winter and head inside to clubs, theaters and arenas to see their music al acts. South of the equator, things are just getting warmed up as festival season, albeit not as busy, gets under way. Ultra Music Festival has set up a strong outpost in South Africa over the past couple years and toda and UMF has unveiled the first phase of artists who will head down to Johannesburg and Cape Town at the end of February. Among those tabbed in the first phase are Skrillex, Zedd, Dash Berlin and Galantis.
The four other acts in this small, yet star-studded announcement are The Martinez Brothers, Robin Schulz, Seth Troxler and Black Coffee.
Skrillex and Zedd will be your main stage headliners alongside Dash Berlin and Galantis, while The Martinez Brothers, Seth Troxler and Black Coffee will helm the Resistance stage, which makes its debut in South Africa next year.
Ultra South Africa will take place in two locations, each one getting a two-day festival. Things will kick off on Feb. 26 at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg, ending the following day on Feb. 27. That same day, Feb. 27, things will get under way to the Southwest in Cape Town at The Ostrich Ranch until Feb. 28.
Ultra South Africa looks to build on what it did last year, welcoming names like Armin van Buuren, Axwell / Ingrosso, Hardwell, Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens and Gorgon City.
Tickets are on sale now for both festivals in Johannesburg and Capetown starting at R1250 and R1000 respectively for GA passes.
