"Player" crooner Chris Brown had seemed to be flying underneath the radar recently, wholeheartedly jumping into his parental duties with daughter Royalty. However, in new shocking reports, Brown is accused of being addicted to codeine cough syrup, also known by its street moniker "sizzurp". The news comes on the heels of the troubled singer receiving joint custody of his young daughter with very strict courtroom stipulations and a zero tolerance for drugs being found in his system.
According to reports, the singer is currently battling a major addiction to codeine, following in the footsteps of fellow celebrities such as Lil Wayne, Pimp C and more who suffered from major repercussions with the adictive drug. TMZ is now reporting, "Chris' friends and family are worried for several reasons. The problem has been getting worse over the last few weeks. They say he's drinking sizzurp around Royalty and they're worried he'll lose custody."
Prior to the reports hitting the Internet, Brown took to his social media Monday (Nov. 1) to blast TMZ and warn fans of the fact that they were planning to run a report that was 100% false.
Although he never revealed what the site was accusing him of, the "Liquor" singer alluded that the story was completely fabricated and designed to hurt his character. In a series of tweets, he revealed the plot to fans.
"Tmz is about to run a bogus story tomorrow becuz they aren't getting any traffic," he tweeted. "They called my publicist about some bullshit ass story. It's just sad. Now I'm letting y'all know it's bullsh*t! I got a great album coming, having a great time being a father, and also staying out the way! Ima grown man and I live my life on my terms." [sic]
No word just yet if the accusations will somehow play into his current custody situation now that Brown and his baby's mother, Nia Guzman, are on good terms.
