Carly Rae Jepsen has dropped a brand new music video for her song "Your Type" off of her latest album EMOTION. Like Jepsen's own story, the video tells of a struggling young singer finally getting everyone's attention.
The video for the '80s-esque electro-inspired single starts off with a somewhat creepy radio announcer introducing a "Cinderella story" about a not-so-ordinary girl. A sad Jepsen is seen selling tickets at a movie theatre before being robbed of her lovely over-ear headphones on a park bench. She then walks into a seedy bar and after fixing herself up a bit, surprise! She gets on stage to perform and transforms the lackluster audience into a mob of dancing bafoons.
If you're not quite putting two-and-two together for some reason, Jepson stormed onto the scene in 2012 with the release of her earworm of a song "Call Me Maybe," and "Your Type" mimicks her overnight sensation success.
Prior to "Your Type," the pop singer had unleashed her two lead singles from the album, "I Really Like You" and "Run Away With Me."
EMOTION, which was released back in August, is out now on School Boy/Interscope Records and if you don't yet have a copy, you can purchase one today via iTunes.
