Miley Cyrus cancelled her Bangerz Tour stop in Charlotte, N.C., last night just 30 minutes before the show was set to begin, making yet another detrimental mark in her controversial tour.
According to a press release from LiveNation (via Billboard), Cyrus contracted the flu, making her unable to perform at the April 7 concert.
"Cyrus has been diagnosed with the flu and doctors have ordered her to rest," the release simply stated. Moreover, the show is not just delayed - it's out and out cancelled. Fans who purchased tickets to the show will be able to get full refunds.
The cancellation came as a shock to Cyrus fans, and not just because of the super short notice. A notably prolific performer, Cyrus is not known to cancel shows. Just last week on the same day her beloved dog Floyd died, she took to the stage in Boston.
Reviews of that show, however, were less than mixed. Cyrus broke down crying multiple times during the 90-minute performance and erupted into pure sobs when a giant blow up of the Alaskan Klee Kai appeared on stage.
So, if she was able to perform after suffering such a tragedy as a lost pet, it's sure that she must truly be sick.
Even though she's typically a consistent tweeter, Cyrus has yet to address the cancelled concert on her official Twitter account. Though, she did hint that she was hurting yesterday (April 7). "Excruciating pain," she wrote at 2:25 a.m. However, whether the pain was physical or emotional is yet to be seen.
Cyrus' Bangerz Tour is scheduled to continue tonight (April 8) in Raleigh, N.C., though whether or not she'll go on has yet to be announced.
