Rascal Flatts performance at Sunday night's (April 6) Academy of Country Music Awards seemed a little off, and now the band has admitted the reason why... its performance of "Rewind" was totally lip synced.
Though most acts will shy away from any such accusations, the country band tackled the issue head-on and admitted to miming the performance on its official Facebook page in a post early this morning (April 8).
"After having performed several shows earlier in the week, Gary [LeVox] lost his voice. So, instead of cancelling our commitment to do the show, we made a last minute decision to lip-sync," the iPhone screen grab read. "We've never done it before, and we're obviously not very good at it. We look forward to singing live again in the very near future!"
Watching the video of the performance back, it's clear Rascal Flatts are "not very good" at lip syncing its music. LeVox is clunky with his microphone, and the entire gig seems very unnatural.

"Rewind," when not getting mimed at awards shows, is the lead single from Rascal Flatts' upcoming ninth studio album, fittingly titled Rewind.
