Future's Monster 2 mixtape may be making its way to fans very soon. The "Commas" rapper dropped more hints that the project is coming as he responded to comments made by Funk Flex.
During his Tuesday (Nov. 3) night show, Flex reportedly gave a spiel about how New York radio should support local artists before those from outside the region.
Although Future hails from Atlanta, he is no stranger to NY radio. He took to social media to chime in on Flex's remarks and get fans excited about new music.
"Funk master flex thanks for the extra motivation...u gone play intown music 1st over outtatown music, he began, adding, "Dropping so much heat u gone have to play my sh*t 1st..that's wat I'm going for #MONSTER2."
He wrapped things up, noting that he meant "no disrespect" by his tweets.
Although Flex did not respond via social media, he shared tweets of others supporting his statements and retweeted Future onto his timeline.
A few days before Halloween, Future announced his intentions to release Monster 2. Future hinted at a second installment of Monster, captioning an Instagram post with the mixtape title.
In October 2014, the “Where Ya At” rhymer released Monster, which ended up being one of three mixtapes that reawakened his fanbase and birthed a new slew of fans known on social media as the “#FutureHive.”
This isn’t the first time Future gave word of another project to be released this year. During his set at Made In America, Future told the crowd that he will be releasing another album this year.
“We appreciate all the support. Y’all been turning up for us. It’s gonna be another album on the way before the year is out with. Just know we ain’t stopping,” he said during his performance.
