The Good Life announces summer 2014 tour, the Saddle Creek outfit's first shows since 2010

Saddle Creek Records' indie/folk outfit The Good Life has announced a four-date, California tour for August 2014. The band plans to perform its full catalog during these shows, which will be the first time the band has toured since 2010.

The band's Facebook page (along with Saddle Creek's and Tim Kasher's pages) announced the tour this week, surprising many fans:

HEY EVERYONE WE AREN'T DEAD AND WE ARE SO EXCITED

The Good Life tour dates:

AUG. 6 SAN FRANCISCO, CA CHAPEL*

AUG. 7 LOS ANGELES, CA THE ECHO*

AUG. 8 SANTA ANA, CA THE OBSERVATORY*

AUG. 9 SAN DIEGO, CA THE CASBAH*

* Big Harp and You Are Plural support on all dates

Though this four-date tour is only in California, we're desperately hoping it leas to a national tour. We are sure you're hoping for this as well.

Originally started as a folk side project of Omaha icon Tim Kasher as a break from his darker songwriting style with his band Cursive, The Good Life evolved into a band featuring some of Saddle Creek's best musicians. Stefanie Drootin-Senseney (Bright Eyes, Maria Taylor, Azure Ray, Big Harp), Ryan Fox and Roger Lewis (Neva Dinova, Conduits, Oquoa).

The Good Life has released four full-length records, the last of which, Help Wanted Nights, was released in 2007. One of the main reasons we haven't heard from the band in so long is that the members live all over the country with Kasher in Chicago, Drootin-Senseney in Los Angeles, Fox in Portland and Lewis in Omaha.
