Chris Martin Talks Guns N' Roses Influence on New Coldplay Album 'A Head Full Of Dreams'

On the helm of the release of their new album A Head Full of Dreams, Coldplay's Chris Martin talked about the Guns N' Roses influence during an appearance on Sirius XM radio with host Jeff Regan. The first single from the album "Adventure Of A Lifetime," premiered yesterday (Nov. 6).

"I'd been begging Jonny our guitarist for years to make a riff that I like as much as 'Sweet Child O' Mine' by Guns N' Roses," Martin said on air. "Then he showed me that one, and I was like, 'That's it!' So those elements all came together, and we just wanted to kind of embrace our love of joyful music and sort of let it free."

Their new A Head Full of Dreams album is rumored to be their last album as a group and there has been a great deal of mystery surrounding it. Just yesterday when "Adventure Of A Lifetime" was released, the band also revealed the entire album release date as well as the album cover. The album release date was revealed in obscure ads posted in the London Underground, in addition to a mysterious symbol that Martin donned on a T-shirt during their Global Citizen Festival.

A Head Full of Dreams was recorded in musical hotspots Malibu, Los Angeles and London and produced by Norwegian producers Stargate and Rik Simpson. The album reportedly features everyone from Beyoncé to Tove Lo to Merry Clayton and even Noel Gallagher of Oasis. The album also features new song "Amazing Day," which was debuted during their performance at the Global Citizen Festival.

Billboard reported that the whole album released early next month (Dec. 4) and it is already available to pre-order on the band's website.
