Jay Z's documentary 'Made In America' to be released in May

In case you missed Jay Z's epic Made In America festival, you'll soon get to witness it all in the comfort of your home.

AllHipHop reports that Signature Entertainment recently announced that it will release Jay Z's Ron Howard-directed Made In America documentary this May on DVD and video on demand.

The film debuted on Showtime back in October after more than a year's anticipation.

"We are proud to release MADE IN AMERICA in the UK," Jon Bourdillon of Signature Entertainment said. "With the collaboration of great talents including Ron Howard as director and one of the world's best-selling artists of all time, Jay-Z, it is the must-see music feature film of the year"

The documentary includes footage from Hov's 2-day concert in Philadelphia back in September 2012. It features appearances from Kanye West, Beyonce, Skrillex, Janelle Monae, Rita Ora and many more.

Ron Howard's most notable films include Grand Theft Auto, Cocoon, Apollo 13, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and A Beautiful Mind.

Rolling Stone reported Jay Z speaking on the concept behind the festival saying, "Made in America could become a place where people of all cultures gather and have fun being themselves."

The hip-hop mogul says he wanted the festival to represent America.

"America is now being accepting of all cultures," he went on to explain. "We have a black president now. . . . We've made steps as far as racism. Now we have to make steps towards sexism, gay rights. . . . We're all people at the end of the day. . . . We all have that belief that you can make it here in the land of the free and the home of the brave."

The film is available for pre-order on iTunes now.
