ZHU: Working For It
"Working For It" was the final track in ZHU's six part Genesis collaborations series. Now it is the second track to get the visual treatment following the reclusive Los Angeles-based producer's video for his track with AlunaGeorge "Automatic."
"Working For It" keeps with the black and white color scheme that has been a constant in all other ZHU music videos. ZHU has been premiering these songs in minute long clips sent out to email subscribers at the beginning of the week with accompanying short videos. He now uses that cartoonish format to present this full video filled with romance, violence and intrigue. A man's wife is murdered and he goes on a rampage to find those responsible, using all weapons at his disposal including a sniper rifle, a helicopter piloted by Skrillex and more.
Keeping with the collaborative nature of this project, the video combines the works of various graphic artists and fan-submitted shorts that were collected via his newly minted GenerationWHY.com for the EP.
In addition to the Genesis Series, ZHU is also prepping an album. There are no further details beyond that, but expect more music from ZHU.
ZHU will unveil a new line of merchandise this week at a pop up shop in L.A. on Nov. 11. The clothing will including tees, bomber jackets, beanies and crew neck sweaters. The full collection will go on sale for everyone who can't get to the L.A. pop up shop on Nov. 16 with via nightdaycollection.com.
