One Direction Return to 'Torn' in BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge Five Years After 'X Factor' [WATCH]

One Direction are bringing it all full circle. On Thursday (Nov. 12) ahead of the release of their fifth album Made in the A.M. the boys headed to the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to perform a selection of hits, and for one of their two covers, 1D took it to the start with a cover of Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn."

"Torn" was the first song that One Direction performed on The X Factor five years ago when they were first assembled by Simon Cowell. Half a decade, five albums, four tours and one member down later, the magic of "Torn" has seemingly not been lost on One Direction. When introducing the song, Niall Horan admitted that their upcoming performance - the first since that X Factor gig - gave him chills.

As a four piece, the performance was a stunning reminder of how far One Direction has come, with the harmonies even richer than they were in the south of Spain all those years ago.

One Direction didn't just revisit "Torn" during their time in the Live Lounge, the boy band also played a selection of their other hits, including "Night Changes," "Story of My Life" and "Infinity." For their other cover, One Direction reached outside of their own catalogue and tackled Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney's "FourFiveSeconds."

One Direction appeared on the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge to promote their new album Made in the A.M., which is due to be released tomorrow (Nov. 13).
