Electric Forest has announced the 2016 dates for the festival's return to Rothbury, Michigan once again. It has also announced a brand new video four-part series Once Upon The Forest that highlights the past, present and future of EF.
Electric Forest will return to the Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury from June 23-26, 2016. Ticket info has not been released yet, but wristbands and lodging packages will go on sale sometime in December. The exact date for when the tickets go on sale will be revealed very soon. Fans can sign up for the festival's mailing list to get access to advanced tickets.
The first video in the Once Upon The Forest series, titled "Awakening," has been released to go along with the news about Electric Forest's 2016 dates. The video champions the openness and inclusive nature of the festival grounds and those who inhabit it for three days in late June. Revelers, individuals who help create art installations and other organizers are interviewed while video from the festival plays in the background.
The next three videos will be released over the next month.
Entering its sixth year, Electric Forest has become one of the more interesting destination festivals in the United States, drawing a very loyal fan base who come back each year.
The 2015 edition of Electric Forest featured some of the biggest names in electronic music and from the jam band scene. String Cheese Incident will always get their three shows, but last year acts like Bassnectar, Skrillex, Flume, Big Gigantic, Kaskade, Edwarde Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, John Digweed, Phantogram all helmed the lineup.
