Rumors imply AC/DC may be done; Guitarist Malcom Young suffering from blood clot in the brain?

UPDATE: Billboard has reported that rumors of the band's retirement have been struck down by yet again another anonymous source. Still no official response from the band however.

The rumor mill is in full force with regards to AC/DC, and the buildup of information seems to suggest that one of the classic rock band's members might be ill to such a degree that the band won't ever perform again. Again, we warn in advance that these are just rumors for the time being. But here are the statements that have been made that have driven AC/DC fans to panic, in order:

01) Peter Ford, an Australian entertainment journalist reported that the band's 40th anniversary tour might not happen, and later hinted that health problems in the ranks were to blame.

""The suggestion is being put to me that tour will never happen and we will never see AC/DC perform again or record again," he said, and later clarified: "There is some quite sad detail about it all, that I will not be reporting on, but the band/management may choose to reveal this."

02) A radio station in Perth, Australia, reported receiving an e-mail from a user named "Thunderstruck" who reported having inside information.

"I have extremely good contacts in Europe that are very close to AC/DC," they said. "I have it on very good authority that one of the band members is quite ill and has returned to Australia with his family."

03) The band hasn't released any statements regarding the rumors, but the most popular theory is that guitarist Malcom Young was suffering from a blood clot in his brain. The problem is that vocalist Brian Johnson reported during January that an AC/DC member had been suffering health problems, although he stated a full recovery was expected.

"One of the boys is a little sick and I can't say anything, but he's getting better," he said. "He's doing wonderful. Full recovery fully expected."

We hope that the rumors remain just that. But keep an ear out for developments.
