Drake has been putting on for his city for quite sometime now and he’s gearing up to host yet another Drake Night as his home team, the Toronto Raptors, faces the Cleveland Cavaliers.
According to HipHopDX, Drake Night will reportedly take place on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Dizzy shared the news of the festivities on his Instagram account. In his caption, he tagged the official Instagram account for both the Raptors and the Cavaliers’ LeBron James.
Drake was recruited as global ambassador for the Raptors back in 2013 and has hosted his namesake event once per season with alternating dates. Last season, Drake Night took place on Jan. 11, during a game against the Brooklyn Nets. Attendees received a limited edition Drake Night shirt and got to see a halftime DJ set from OVO's Future the Prince. No word on what Drizzy has planned this time around but we’re sure it’ll be something special, considering it’s so close to Thanksgiving.
Toronto is also slated to host the 2016 NBA All-Star Game in February.
Earlier this month, Drake caught a heap of attention after he shared a photo of a billboard in Toronto presumably hinting at the release of his Views From The 6 album. He posted a now deleted photo of a black billboard, which read, "The 6 is watching” and captioned it with, “be home soon.”
Drake has already released two projects, IYRTITL and WATTBA with Future, this year. IYRTITL became the first million-selling album of 2015. No word on exactly when to expect Views, but the “Hotline Bling” crooner did make mention of the album during his performance at Atlanta’s Music Midtown Festival. In the middle of his set, he reportedly told the crowd, "take a break from Views now it's back to that, and me and Future got a tape before that."
